This position is a union position with Tennessee American Water and the starting pay rate is $29.14 per hour.
This position may be eligible for annual incentive pay and contracted increases as determined by the collective bargaining agreement, and you will have the opportunity for continued salary growth. Primary Role
Working independently without direct supervision, talks directly with customers and national call center to determine appropriate response. Performs a variety of tasks to assist in the efficient and reliable operation, maintenance, protection, and appearance of all pipelines, services, hydrants, valves, meters, meter settings, and other appurtenances within the distribution system. Initiates or discontinues services to the customer's home or establishment including installation or removal of meters, following written or oral instruction.
Key Accountabilities
Experience/Education
High School graduate or State-recognized Educational Equivalency Certificate.
Specific vocational preparation includes an occupationally-significant combination of vocational education, apprentice training, in-plant training, on-the-job training, or essential experience.
Work Enviornment
All work is outside work involving contact with water or other liquids. Atmospheric condition with moisture content sufficiently high to cause marked bodily discomfort. Exposure to ambient temperature extremes both hot and cold. Works near gasoline, oil, sewer, or substances in the soil. Potential exposure to poison ivy, oak, sumac, insects, etc. Subject to potential hazards such as driving/driving in darkness, working in traffic, and working with and around excavation equipment and compressed air.
