Field Service Operations Engineer Network & Fortinet

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Field Service Operations Engineer to provide advanced technical support for enterprise network infrastructure, with a strong focus on Fortinet FortiGate firewalls, SD-WAN, and network connectivity.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience troubleshooting complex network incidents, supporting firewall deployments and replacements, coordinating on-site field engineers, and restoring critical network services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide L3 support for Fortinet FortiGate firewalls and SD-WAN devices.
• Troubleshoot firewall policies, NAT, IPsec VPN, routing, WAN/LAN connectivity, and network performance issues.
• Work with FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer for centralized device management and log analysis.
• Lead complex incident troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
• Coordinate with onsite field engineers for hardware replacement, RMA, cabling, and device recovery.
• Perform pre-change and post-change health checks and service validation.
• Support FortiOS upgrades, network deployments, and approved maintenance activities.
• Manage incidents, problems, and changes using ServiceNow.
• Collaborate with NOC, Network Operations, Network Security, carriers, and Fortinet TAC.
• Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and troubleshooting procedures.

Required Technical Skills:

• Fortinet FortiGate NGFW and FortiOS
• Fortinet SD-WAN
• FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer
• Firewall Policies, NAT, and IPsec VPN
• BGP, Static Routing, VLANs, and TCP/IP
• LAN/WAN Troubleshooting
• DNS, DHCP, Broadband, DIA, and LTE Connectivity
• Hardware Replacement, RMA, and Remote Field Support
• ServiceNow Incident, Problem, and Change Management

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6 10 years of network or network-security experience.
• 4+ years of hands-on Fortinet/FortiGate experience.
• Experience supporting enterprise or multi-site network environments.
• Fortinet FCP/FCSS, CCNA/CCNP, or ITIL certification preferred.
• Willingness to support approved maintenance windows and travel to customer sites when required.
