Job Summary
We design and build high-quality, custom manufacturing equipment tailored to our clients' unique manufacturing needs. We are seeking a highly skilled and leadership-driven Service Manager to oversee our service department, coordinate equipment installations, and lead our field technicians. In this role, you will be the bridge between our engineering team and our clients, ensuring that our equipment functions at peak performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Team: Manage, schedule, and mentor field service technicians.
- Technical Support: Troubleshoot complex hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical (PLC) issues both remotely and on-site.
- Operations & Scheduling: Coordinate machine installations, warranty repairs, and preventative maintenance schedules at customer facilities.
- Customer Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for client service inquiries, resolving issues quickly to minimize customer downtime.
- Parts & Inventory: Quote repair projects, order replacement components, and manage inventory for service tools and spare parts.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce strict safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and OSHA standards, for all field and shop activities.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience troubleshooting industrial technical systems or heavy machinery.
- Leadership: 2+ years of experience in a supervisory, team-lead, or service management role.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of hydraulic pumps, valves, cylinders, proportional valves, and PLC controls.
- Schematics: Advanced proficiency in reading complex hydraulic circuitry diagrams and electrical schematics.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex technical issues to clients clearly.
- Travel: Willingness to travel occasionally to client sites for critical installations or complex troubleshooting.
- Education: Technical degree in fluid power, mechanical engineering technology, or equivalent hands-on industry certifications (e.g., IFPS) is highly preferred.
