    JOB SUMMARY

    The Field Service Engineer - India provides technical field service for TSI particle instrumentation customers across India. The role is expected to spend approximately 70% of working time at customer sites, diagnosing, servicing, repairing and supporting installations of particle instruments. The role also provides remote troubleshooting, maintains accurate service records and spare parts readiness, and partners with Sales, Application Engineering and the SG Service Manager to deliver a responsive, high-quality customer experience.

    As TSI expands its India service capability, the role may also support in-house service and calibration activities for particle instruments and may gradually extend to other product/value streams.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical and electrical assemblies used in TSI equipment to component level, following approved TSI procedures.
    • Perform on-site service, repair, calibration and installation/commissioning support for particle instruments at customer locations across India.
    • Assess customer service requirements, define practical action plans, and plan travel, tools, spare parts and resources to resolve issues efficiently.
    • Analyze instrument faults and data; recommend corrective actions and customer-oriented service solutions.
    • Provide remote or virtual support when practical to restore instrument functionality and verify performance with relevant data.
    • Coordinate receipt of customer instruments at the India office or service center for assessment, repair, calibration and return, as required.
    • Maintain appropriate tools, test equipment and spare parts stock to support field service needs.
    • Keep accurate and timely records of service activities, parts usage, findings and customer communication in SAP and other TSI systems.
    • Collaborate with Application Engineering and Sales to support installations, service interventions and customer technical questions.
    • Communicate effectively with the SG Service Manager, India Country Manager, local team members and regional/corporate teams to resolve service issues.
    • Provide voice-of-customer feedback on product quality, usability, reliability and improvement opportunities using TSI reporting tools.
    • Build and maintain technical expertise through training, seminars and collaboration with product and service specialists.
    • Complete other assignments and special projects as requested.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • Education:

    Required

    Technical diploma/certificate in electrical, electronics, instrumentation, mechanical or related science/engineering discipline with relevant experience; or a Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering or a related field.

    Desired

    University degree in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.

    • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of service experience with scientific, analytical, laboratory or industrial instruments.
    • Experience testing, diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing PCB/PCA circuit boards and complex instrumentation preferred.
    • Component-level troubleshooting and repair of electrical and mechanical devices preferred.
    • Experience supporting external customers and working cross-functionally in a service organization.
    • Experience with particle measurement, aerosol instrumentation or calibration processes is beneficial.
    • Core Competencies:

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to work effectively in a matrix organization and across regions/time zones.
    • Analytical problem-solving skills and sound judgement in complex field situations.
    • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize and successfully manage simultaneous field assignments and projects.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ability to use SAP, CRM or similar service systems.
    • High standards of safety, quality, personal integrity and professional integrity.
