Field Service Engineer HPC (Onsite Denver, CO or Oklahoma City, OK)

We are seeking a Field Service Engineer HPC to support the client's supercomputer for OpenAI. In this role, you will be part of the onsite team responsible for maintaining system availability and uptime, ensuring customer SLAs are met. You will collaborate with both the customer and remote HPE teams, performing daily break fix work, troubleshooting, and part replacement across the system. This is a hands on, customer facing role requiring strong HPC hardware and Linux expertise, along with the ability to operate calmly under pressure while delivering reliable support.

This is a 12 month contract to hire role, 32 hours/week (4 days onsite per week) in Denver, CO or Oklahoma City, OK.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Linux supercomputer systems availability to meet customer SLAs.
• Perform hardware diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs as required.
• Gather data, perform analysis, and escalate issues to higher level support teams when necessary.
• Work under the direction of the Project/Technical Manager and customer representatives to deliver technical and operational support.
• Provide advice on solution and integration opportunities, documenting processes and sharing knowledge across teams.
• Contribute to knowledge tools and communities, ensuring project learnings are captured and reused.

Requirement

• 5+ years of Linux HPC related experience, ideally with large scale HPC system administration and hardware support.
• Strong experience with Linux/Unix operating systems, file systems, networking, and security (Red Hat/CentOS or equivalent).
• Working knowledge of Linux OS (RHEL or SLES) preferred.

• Strong interpersonal, customer relations, and problem management skills; professional under pressure and strict deadlines.
• Ability to diagnose complex technical problems to root cause and drive resolution.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; without a degree, 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
