At Mpac Langen, we're looking for a Field Service Engineer to join our growing Service team in the United States. This is a remote-based role offering the opportunity to work on advanced automated packaging systems across North America and beyond. You'll play a critical role in installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, programming, and customer support activities for world-class packaging machinery.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Field Service Controls Engineer, you'll be the technical expert supporting customers and internal teams throughout the lifecycle of our automated packaging systems.

Key responsibilities include:

• Commissioning and supporting new automated packaging equipment
• PLC programming, troubleshooting and electrical debugging in the field
• Supporting Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), installations and start-ups
• Providing programming and electrical support for ancillary equipment
• Working with project and operations teams to resolve technical issues efficiently
• Updating electrical schematics and implementing design improvements
• Configuring servos, VFDs and control systems
• Supporting customer troubleshooting and technical service requests
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to engineering standards
• Building strong customer relationships through exceptional technical support

What We're Looking For

Essential Experience

• 5+ years of experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, or machinery commissioning
• Experience within packaging machinery or industrial automation environments
• Strong knowledge of:
• Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and MicroLogix platforms
• Motion control systems
• FactoryTalk HMI
• PLC programming and troubleshooting expertise
• Strong understanding of machine safety and control-reliable design principles
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with global teams

Nice to Have

• Siemens PLC experience
• AutoCAD Electrical knowledge
• Experience commissioning high-speed automated equipment

Travel Requirements

This role requires up to 80% overnight travel, depending on customer location and business needs. Candidates must hold a valid passport and driver's licence and be able to travel domestically and internationally without restriction.
