As a Field Service Engineer, you will be required to travel to sites where contractors have installed Central Inverter Systems that require a factory representative to conduct the initial commissioning of the system. The role interfaces with Engineering, Customer Service, and Operations personnel as well as various levels of Supervision and Management.


Position Duties and Responsibilities (including but are not limited to):
- Lead on-site commissioning of Central Inverter Systems, including final installation of components, verifying wiring, connections, voltages, and performing discharge and functional tests to ensure systems meet operational standards.
- Coordinate with contractors and customers to schedule commissioning, start-up, and training activities, and clearly communicate system operation while answering technical questions.
- Perform detailed electrical inspections and validation, applying strong AC/DC fundamentals to confirm compliance with product specifications and safe operation.
- Focus primarily on commissioning and system validation, addressing minor installation issues on-site, while minimizing reactive troubleshooting.
- Document and report field observations, provide feedback to Design and Electrical Engineering teams, maintain accurate job records, and manage related administrative tasks (expenses, receipts, schedules).
- Support system testing and parts management, including preparing replacements, processing returns, and assisting the Inverter Testing Department as needed.




Talents and Qualifications (Required):
* 5+ years of commercial electrical experience.
* Familiarity with AC & DC systems.
* Strong knowledge of electrical schematics, Control systems.
* Ability to work with single phase and three phase units up to 480 VAC.
* Ability to work with DC voltage from 6 - 326 VDC.
* Familiarity with the National Electric Code (NEC).
* Familiarity with NFPA 70E and OSHA Guidelines in the electrical industry
* Proficiency with various hand-held measurement devices for AC/DC voltage and current.
* General knowledge of electronics and ability to replace defective PCB assemblies if necessary.
* Basic knowledge of Microsoft office, particularly use of Excel, Outlook and Word.
* The ability to lift and move large batteries (up to 80 lbs.) unassisted.
