Salary: $40-45 per hour
Our Field Service & Automation Technicians work in our customers’ facilities in a hands-on capacity, using a variety of tools to install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair machinesand controls. This is a full-time, hourly position for a responsible individual capable of working with minimal supervision. The technician primarily serves a defined Southern California territory, operates from a company-supplied service vehicle, responds to service demand and generates additional revenue by offering TMT parts and services. In addition to standard FST responsibilities, this position supports Siemens-equipped machinery and integrated automation systems. The role may be filled by an experienced CNC/automation troubleshooter or a strong electromechanical technician with the aptitude to develop advanced Siemens controls and automation competency. Occasional travel outside the normal territory is required.
Who we are looking for / Requirements:
Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting ability.
Electrical or electromechanical troubleshooting experience; CNC machine-tool or industrial automation experience preferred.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively manage time, priorities and service calls.
Willingness to participate in intensive technical and product training and to travel as required.
Experience with Siemens SINUMERIK/SINAMICS, PLC or servo systems, industrial networks, robotics, machine tending, commissioning or third-party automation integration is highly desirable.
Physically able to lift 50 lbs., walk long distances, climb on machines, bend, twist, squat and handle tools dexterously.
Driver's license in good standing and able to qualify for coverage under the company insurance program.
Performance Objectives / What you'll be doing:
Installs, maintains and services all TMT products, including preventative maintenance.
Troubleshoots mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and control-system problems.
Supports ProtoTRAK and Siemens-equipped machines and assists with integrated
automation systems, commissioning and production startup.
Uses schematics, diagnostic tools and service information to isolate difficult machine, control, network or integration problems.
Works with Engineering Support, Siemens resources and third-party integrators as needed to resolve complex assignments.
Completes required FST, Siemens, CNC and automation training and progressively takes ownership of more difficult service work.
Documents all work thoroughly and on time, maintains required CRM information and
provides useful field feedback through the Field Feedback & Response Process (FFRP).
Maintains company service vehicle, tools and assigned equipment.
Assists other FSTs with troubleshooting and travels outside the normal territory when required.
