The Commercial Roofing Technician is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of commercial roofing systems under the direction of a Lead Technician or Foreman. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Assist in the installation, repair, and replacement of commercial roofing systems, including but not limited to TPO, EPDM, PVC, modified bitumen, and metal roofs
- Safely operate hand tools, roofing equipment, and machinery; follow all safety guidelines, including fall protection and PPE use
- Load and unload materials and tools; stage materials on roofs
- Remove old roofing systems and clean work areas, maintain jobsite cleanliness and organization
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of experience in commercial or residential roofing (preferred but not required)
- Familiarity with common roofing systems and tools
- Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Valid driver’s license (preferred)
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and carry materials
- Climb ladders and scaffolding; work on steep slopes and elevated surfaces
- Stand, bend, kneel, and squat for extended periods
- Work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
Preferred Qualifications:
- OSHA 10-hour certification
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
- Manufacturer training or certifications (GAF, Firestone, etc.)
