Field Research Assistant

The Research Assistant will perform a variety of routine tasks associated with the Windfall, IN multi crop research station. The tasks will include any or all of those described for the Field and Processing Worker, organization of samples during corn/soy harvest and/or, wheat planting. The type of task will be dependent on the stage of the annual research program and will be seasonal in nature. Tasks may be performed in an indoor and/or outdoor setting. The Assistant must be able to understand and follow both written and oral instructions. He/She normally receives general instructions on routine tasks and detailed instructions on new tasks. The work will be closely supervised.

As with the Field and Processing Worker, can be responsible for performing a wide range of tasks or a specific task depending on the stage of the seasonal research program. Tasks may include: Field research operations related to planting, thinning, weeding, pollinations and sample harvest. Sample processing operations including preparation of supplies, sorting, scanning, weighing, preparation for shipping and seed packaging. General facility operations including general clean-up, organization of samples and supplies, and other routine tasks as they arise. The Research Assistant may also perform additional tasks as requested by the supervising Field Technician.
