Description

Location: Towson, MD
Pay Rate: $19.00- $21.00/hr
Duration: Temp to hire
Hours: 8AM-5PM, Monday-Friday, with 1 hour lunch

Summary:
The Print Operator / Intake Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for incoming print requests, ensuring orders are accurately reviewed, processed, and prepared for production. This role is responsible for job intake, order entry, basic prepress functions, customer communication, and coordination of print-ready files to support efficient production workflows and exceptional customer service.

Required Skills and Experience
  • Experience in print production, print operations, customer service, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of print processes, file preparation, and prepress workflows.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and online ordering or workflow management systems.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite applications, particularly Acrobat, Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop, preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify file and formatting issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage deadlines in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and customer service skills.
Responsibilities
  • Review and assess incoming print requests for completeness, accuracy, and production requirements.
  • Enter job specifications, quantities, deadlines, and delivery details into the ordering portal.
  • Perform prepress activities, including file review, setup, formatting, and correction of files that are not production-ready.
  • Identify file issues and work with customers to obtain revised artwork, missing assets, or additional information required for production.
  • Communicate with customers regarding order status, clarification of specifications, and resolution of job-related concerns.
  • Ensure all orders meet print production standards and organizational requirements before releasing them for production.
  • Coordinate with production staff to prioritize jobs and support timely order fulfillment.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer requests, order details, and correspondence within applicable systems.
  • Monitor job progress and follow up on outstanding information to prevent production delays.
  • Deliver a high level of customer service while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
Previous Experience
  • Experience in print production, print operations, customer service, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of print processes, file preparation, and prepress workflows.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and online ordering or workflow management systems.

Qualifications:
  • Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Requires minimum of 3 years of related experience; 5 years is preferred.

  • Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize
  • Ability to use, calibrate and troubleshoot office and complex technical equipment,
