Overview:Manage survey field personnel, survey equipment, and survey trucks. Coordinate fieldwork schedules for complex, multi-faceted projects.
Responsibilities:Leadership and Direction
Receive broad guidance relating to overall key objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters and broad parameters for execution. Receive direction on highly complex assignments. Independently apply extensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields. Review work produced by staff for quality assurance.
At the Operational and Company Level
Assist with the marketing of the firm's capabilities to identify and establish new clients and enhance relationships with existing clients to secure repeat business.
Consult and coordinate with clients and contractors, as well as other internal departments such as engineering and planning, to meet project requirements.
Do the Work
Ensure that projects are staffed, fieldwork is completed accurately, and deadlines are prioritized while maintaining and following Bowman Field Standards.
Ensure that Field Crews are prepared, supported, and on task in a changing environment.
Oversee Survey Field Crew time entries to ensure accuracy, completion, and correctness.
Oversee maintenance of Survey Equipment, Trucks, Trailers, and UTVs.
Maintain stock of field supplies (i.e. flagging, stakes, nails, etc.).
Communicate with department managers and project managers to understand the changes to projects and schedules, and the impact of those changes.
Assist Survey Field Crews with troubleshooting and correcting minor equipment malfunctions.
Compute construction staking plans and review field staking accuracy.
Compute and process raw field data along with CAD computations and DTM processing.
Complete performance management processes with assigned personnel.
Complete a variety of supervisory tasks, such as: reviewing resumes and interviewing potential staff; training new hires; creating and managing team schedules; helping to resolve employee issues and disputes; reporting to HR and senior management; participate in 1:1 sessions and performance reviews with direct reports.
May complete survey field work when necessary as well as CAD computations and drawings.

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent commensurate experience required.
Associate's degree in surveying or related completed degree beyond associate's may account for one (1) year of required work experience.
Eight or more (8+) years of progressive surveying field experience required, with two or more (2+) years of progressive office experience preferred.
In-depth knowledge of Trimble Survey Equipment, Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center and Carlson Software.
Strong understanding of various Field Survey Workflows and sense for time estimation for completion of jobs.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Valid state driver's license and clean driving record required.
