General Job Description:

IES Commercial, Inc. - DBA IES Electrical, seeking Field Operations Coordinator in Suffolk, Virginia. 

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or work authorization support. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without current or future need for employer sponsorship.

 

Job Summary

The Field Operations Coordinator supports field and project management teams by keeping projects organized, documented, and on schedule. This role coordinates information between the field and office, tracks milestones and constraints, monitors quality requirements, and identifies issues before they affect performance. The position also provides visibility across multiple projects and promotes consistent execution through effective communication, accountability, and operational support.

  •  Supports Field Managers by helping remove administrative burdens so they can focus on running work in the field.
  • Tracks schedules and milestones to identify delays, conflicts, and upcoming constraints before they become major issues.
  • Maintains project documentation and ensures project records meet IES standards and customer requirements.
  • Monitors quality control requirements and verifies required inspections, reports, and documentation are completed on time.
  • Visits job sites regularly to stay engaged with project progress and support field teams where needed.
  • Tracks project conditions and constraints that could affect manpower, productivity, cost, or schedule.
  • Coordinates between field and office teams to ensure information flows efficiently and issues are addressed quickly.
  • Holds teams accountable for documentation, action items, and project responsibilities.
  • Prevents schedule headaches by proactively identifying concerns and communicating them before they become GC issues or change order disputesServes as a resource for project teams by helping maintain organization, consistency, and visibility across multiple projects.
Specific Qualifications:
  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate’s Degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, Engineering Technology or related fields preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams).
  • Must successfully pass all required pre-employment screenings (background, MVR, and drug testing as applicable).
