What You’ll Be Doing:
As our Field Onboarding Specialist, you’ll own one of the most important moments in the technician experience: the first 14 days. You’ll help new HVAC/R Technicians get the training, tools, systems access, and support they need to start strong while identifying opportunities that improve retention and the onboarding experience across Nextech.
- Own the field onboarding process for HVAC/R Technicians, ensuring required compliance, technical, safety, and professional training is completed and documented.
- Coordinate first-day onboarding with local offices and drive the 14-day sign-off process, including accurate reporting and updates in UKG.
- Partner with local management and IT to ensure technicians have timely access to field systems, applications, training, and support.
- Work with HR, operations, and department leaders to resolve day-to-day technician needs involving tools, fleet, systems access, and other operational resources.
- Serve as a trusted liaison between HVAC/R Technicians and leadership, helping resolve operational and workflow concerns while maintaining clear boundaries around HR, pay, benefits, and employee relations matters.
- Connect technicians with training and development opportunities that strengthen process knowledge and technical capabilities.
- Track first-14-day retention metrics and translate data into actionable recommendations for leadership.
- Coach leaders on effective technician engagement, onboarding, and retention practices.
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities that can strengthen technician loyalty, improve the onboarding experience, and reduce attrition.
- Complete responsibilities safely, accurately, thoroughly, and with strong attention to detail while upholding Nextech policies and professional standards.
- Take ownership of additional related responsibilities as business needs evolve.

Min Compensation:
USD $70,000.00/Yr.
Max Compensation:
USD $85,000.00/Yr.
What We’re Looking For:
We’re looking for a proactive, highly organized professional who can combine relationship-building skills with data-driven thinking and strong operational execution.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field or 2+ years of experience in field or service operations.
- Experience in manufacturing, construction, field services, or another technician-heavy industry.
- Previous experience supporting the HVAC industry or another service-based business is preferred.
- Understanding of HVAC/R Technician job functions and experience working with diverse teams is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proven problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Ability to analyze data, recognize trends, and turn findings into actionable insights.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP, macros, IF statements, and formulas, along with proficiency across Microsoft Office.
- Ability to coordinate and contribute effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize competing responsibilities and manage multiple projects from start to finish with minimal supervision.
- Self-motivated approach with the initiative to take ownership and move assignments forward.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual capabilities, especially Spanish, are a plus.
- Ability to travel occasionally.
- May be required to use a personal smartphone with a camera capable of reading a QR code for two-factor authentication.
