$35-$42/Hour + Overtime | Boston Area | Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:00 PM

A leading real estate investment and property management firm is seeking a Field Maintenance Mechanic to support a residential portfolio of 5 properties / approximately 200 units throughout the Boston area.

This is a hands-on, field-based maintenance role focused on resident work orders, apartment turnovers, general repairs, preventative maintenance, vendor coordination, and day-to-day property upkeep. The ideal candidate will have strong residential apartment maintenance experience and be comfortable working independently with minimal training.

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond to resident maintenance requests, service tickets, and day-to-day work orders

• Complete apartment turnovers, general property upkeep, and preventative maintenance

• Perform general plumbing, basic HVAC maintenance, painting, drywall, carpentry, and light electrical repairs

• Troubleshoot maintenance issues independently and determine when outside vendors are needed

• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for larger repairs or specialized work

• Maintain accurate work order updates, maintenance logs, and property documentation

• Rotate between five residential properties on a weekly schedule

Qualifications:

• Hands-on residential apartment maintenance experience strongly preferred

• General knowledge of building maintenance, repairs, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, drywall, and basic electrical work

• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and resolve maintenance issues with minimal supervision

• Dependable, professional, service-oriented, and comfortable communicating with residents, vendors, and internal teams

• Reliable transportation and ability to rotate between assigned properties

• Ability to participate in an optional on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies

• Must be able to pass a background check
