    Field Maintenance Engineer - Electrical/Mechanical

    Wright Technical Services is supporting a leading industrial automation environment within the metals processing industry. This role is critical to maintaining maximum equipment uptime through expert field troubleshooting, system maintenance, and technical support.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide on-site troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial automation equipment.
    • Perform preventative maintenance activities and field system modifications.
    • Respond to emergency service calls on a rotating on-call schedule.
    • Maintain accurate and timely service documentation, customer logs, and internal service records.
    • Maintain daily communication with customers to ensure issue resolution, proper follow-up, and high customer satisfaction.
    • Support small engineering projects with varying levels of technical complexity.
    • Identify and participate in sales opportunities including service contracts, renewals, and system upgrades.
    • Operate safely in industrial environments involving electrical, mechanical, and pressurized systems.

    Experience

    • Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.
      (Entry-level candidates with strong technical aptitude will be considered.)
    • 5+ years of field service or industrial automation experience preferred.
    • 2+ years of leadership, supervision, or project coordination experience preferred.
    • Strong aptitude for troubleshooting and configuring PLC platforms including Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and GE.
    • Strong aptitude for troubleshooting and configuring variable frequency drives including Siemens, ABB, and Allen-Bradley.
    • Experience troubleshooting or configuring HMI systems and software packages (preferred).
    • Experience in metals processing or other heavy industrial manufacturing environments (strongly preferred).
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability and willingness to travel 50–70% domestically.
