Job Summary

Graham Personnel Services is seeking a skilled Field Installation Technician to install, configure, troubleshoot, and support POS systems, networking equipment, printers, and low-voltage infrastructure at customer locations throughout the Midwest and across the United States.
This hands-on, customer-facing position supports retail stores, restaurants, warehouses, distribution centers, and healthcare environments. The ideal candidate is technically capable, dependable, customer-focused, and comfortable working independently in a high-travel environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, test, and troubleshoot POS systems, PCs, printers, scanners, routers, switches, wireless access points, and related equipment.
  • Install, terminate, label, and test Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber-optic cabling to industry standards.
  • Conduct site surveys and identify equipment, cabling, connectivity, and installation requirements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, networking, connectivity, and installation issues in the field.
  • Service Zebra thermal/barcode printers and network-connected printing equipment, including healthcare printing solutions.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, customers, and other technicians to complete projects safely, accurately, and on schedule.
  • Maintain accurate installation, service, inventory, and project documentation.
  • Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Deliver professional, responsive customer service and represent DecisionPoint Technologies positively at customer locations.
  • Follow applicable safety, security, HIPAA, and customer-specific requirements.

Qualifications & Skills
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2–3 years of field service experience with mechanical, electronic, networking, or technology equipment.
  • Experience in healthcare environments such as hospitals, clinics, or laboratories preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Zebra thermal/barcode printers or healthcare printing solutions preferred.
  • Familiarity with network-connected devices and basic networking equipment.
  • Ability to read technical documentation, wiring diagrams, and floor plans.
  • Strong communication, customer service, documentation, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple service calls or projects.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Networking, printer repair, cabling, or field-service certifications are a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Travel & Schedule
  • Approximately 90% travel throughout the Midwest and other U.S. regions.
  • Overnight travel is required.
  • Occasional weekend work may be necessary based on customer schedules and project requirements.
  • Must be comfortable working in a variety of customer environments and traveling extensively.
