Overview
Our client is seeking a Field Installation Manager to support high-volume commercial door and gate service operations across the Greater Sacramento area. This is a hands-on, field-driven role focused on troubleshooting, estimating, scheduling, and supporting installation crews.
This is a newly created position designed to alleviate workload from leadership and improve field efficiency. The ideal candidate brings strong service-based experience (not just new installs) and can confidently manage multiple jobs, crews, and customer needs in real time.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily field operations across 10–20 active service jobs
Troubleshoot issues in the field and remotely support technicians by phone
Run service estimates and scope job requirements
Coordinate and schedule 1–2 person installation/service crews
Source parts, materials, and equipment needed for repairs and installs
Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and to quality standards
Communicate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to keep projects moving
Support compliance with safety and industry standards (ADA, fire code, etc.)
Partner closely with leadership during a 6-month training period
Required Experience
Strong background in commercial door and gate service/installation
Experience with a majority of the following systems:
Automatic doors (SIG or similar)
Storefront doors
Hollow metal doors
Solid core/wood doors
Overhead doors
Dock equipment
Gates and gate operators
Proven ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues in the field
Experience running estimates and coordinating service work
Comfortable managing multiple jobs and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience across all listed door and gate systems
Prior leadership or crew supervision experience
Knowledge of compliance standards and safety regulations
Strong organizational and communication skills
