    Position Overview

    The Field Geologist II provides field oversight and technical support for geological and environmental investigations. This role supports monitoring well installations, foundation investigations, contamination assessments, and site characterizations.

    The position requires extensive travel throughout the southeastern United States and the ability to operate independently in field environments while ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and data integrity.

    Key Responsibilities

    Field Oversight & Investigations

    • Provide field oversight for:
      • Monitoring well installation programs
      • Foundation investigations
      • Contamination assessments
      • Geologic site characterizations
    • Execute field investigations using various drilling methods
    • Perform soil and rock logging
    • Prepare professional logs for:
      • Soil
      • Rock
      • Monitoring well construction data

    Groundwater & Environmental Monitoring

    • Install water monitoring and water quality equipment
    • Manage and document monitoring data output
    • Perform groundwater monitoring and reporting
    • Support environmental sampling and testing activities

    Contractor & Stakeholder Coordination

    • Manage drilling contractors and related vendors in accordance with company guidelines
    • Interface with internal customers and field teams
    • Collaborate with Geologists and Land Group peers to support investigations
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations

    Required Qualifications

    • 5–10 years of related field geology experience
    • Bachelor’s Degree in:
      • Geology (preferred)
      • Geological Engineering (accepted)
    • Experience with:
      • Soil and rock logging
      • Monitoring well construction
      • Groundwater monitoring
      • Environmental sampling methods
    • Working knowledge of:
      • gINT BoreDM Boring Log Program
      • Federal, state, and local environmental regulations
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
    • Safety-first mindset
