    ·                        ADistributionFieldEstimatorisacriticalroleinthe energy and utility industry responsible forassessingfieldconditionsandgatheringdatatoestimate the cost and feasibility of projectsrelatedtoelectricalpowerdistributionsystems.This position involves conducting on-siteinspections, collaborating with engineeringteams, and providing accurate estimates fordistributionprojects.

     

    ·        Belowisageneraldescription of the typical responsibilities andqualificationsforaDistributionFieldEstimator:Responsibilities: Field Inspections: Conductsite visits to assess the current conditions ofelectricaldistributionsystems,includingpoles,wires,transformers,andrelatedequipment.

     

    ·        DataCollection:Gatherdetailedinformationand measurements about the existing infrastructure,suchasequipmentspecifications, materials, and dimensions.Documentation: Maintain accurate records offield observations and measurements. Createdetailed reports and sketches of distributionsystem components.

     

    ·        Cost Estimation:Collaborate with engineers and projectmanagers to estimate the cost of repair,maintenance, upgrades, or new installationsbasedonfielddataandprojectrequirements.

     

    ·        Material and Labor Assessment: Determine the quantities of materials and labor hours required for distribution projects. Obtain pricing information for materials from suppliers. Budget Development: Contribute to the creation of project budgets by providing accurate cost estimates. Ensure that budgets align with project goals and financial constraints. Vendor Coordination: Work with vendors and suppliers to obtain quotes for materials and equipment needed for distribution projects.

     

    ·        Negotiate pricing and delivery schedules. SafetyCompliance: Ensure that field inspections andestimationsadheretosafetyprotocols,industrystandards, and regulatory requirements. DataAnalysis:Analyzefielddataandcostestimatestoidentifyareasforcostoptimizationand efficiency improvements. Reporting: Generatedetailedreportsandcostanalysissummariestocommunicatefindingsandrecommendationstoprojectstakeholders.ualifications:

     

    ·        Education:Ahighschooldiplomaorequivalentistypicallyrequired.Somepositionsmayprefercandidateswithanassociatedegreeorrelevantcourseworkinelectricalengineeringtechnologyor a related field. Experience: Entry-levelpositionsmaynotrequirepriorexperience,butrelevantexperienceinfieldinspections,electrical systems, or construction is a plus.

     

    ·        TechnicalSkills:Basicknowledgeofelectricaldistributionsystems,fieldinspection

    Techniques , and construction processes.Familiarity with measurement tools andequipment. Math Skills: Strong mathematicalandanalyticalskillsareessentialforaccuratelyestimatingprojectcostsandquantities.

     

    ·                        ComputerSkills:Proficiencyinusingsoftwaretoolsfordatacollection,reporting,andbasiccost estimation. Knowledge of geographicinformation systems (GIS) may be advantageous.Communication:Effectivecommunication skills to interact with projectteams, vendors, and suppliers, as well as topresent field inspection findings and costestimates.SafetyAwareness:Acommitmenttosafety protocols and procedures in electricaldistributionandfieldwork.

     

    ·        OrganizationalSkills: Strong organizational skills to managefielddata,documentation,andproject-relatedinformation. Adaptability: Willingness to learnand adapt to new field inspection techniques, software tools, and industry standards. A Distribution Field Estimator plays a vital role in accurately assessing the condition and cost of distribution projects, contributing to the successful planning and execution of electrical distribution systems.
