    HiFyve is hiring a Field Technician – Rental Equipment in Macomb, MI!


    Salary: $40+/hour

    Shift: Day Shift (Field-Based)

    Location: Macomb, MI

    Position Overview


    We are seeking a skilled Field Technician to perform diagnostics, service, and repairs on rental equipment directly at customer sites. This role is ideal for a hands-on technician who excels in troubleshooting, customer service, and working independently. The technician ensures equipment is repaired, maintained, and ready for safe operation to support customer uptime and satisfaction.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Diagnose and repair heavy equipment systems including hydraulics, electrical, and powertrain
    • Perform field service calls at customer locations in a timely, professional manner
    • Complete service documentation including work orders, time entry, parts usage, and maintenance notes
    • Clean, grease, and prepare equipment for safe and reliable operation
    • Maintain company-issued service truck, tools, and equipment in clean, safe working condition
    • Follow all safety procedures and attend scheduled safety meetings
    • Tag, store, and organize equipment as needed
    • Assist with special projects and additional service tasks when required


    Requirements

    • High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training preferred
    • 3–5 years of experience in heavy equipment repair
    • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting ability across hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems
    • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, service database systems)
    • Strong communication, customer service, and time-management skills
    • Ability to work independently in an outdoor/field environment
    • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record (CDL may be required)
    • Ability to lift equipment components and perform physical labor
    • Willingness to work overtime and weekends when needed
