    Description

    Barnhart Energy Company, a sister company of Barnhart Crane and Rigging, is looking for Co Op students for May 2027-December 2027.

    Field Engineer – Support successful project execution through technical documentation management, field coordination, logistics planning, equipment tracking, resource mobilization, and quality oversight. 

    This is a travel position and requires relocation to a project site.

    Core Responsibilities:

      ONE-COMMUNITY

      • Serve as liaison between project leadership, field personnel, subcontractors, vendors, and customers. 
      • Participate in project planning, coordination, and execution meetings. 
      • Communicate project requirements, schedules, resource needs, and quality expectations. 
      • Work closely with operations, logistics, engineering, and project management teams to support project success. 

      FULL-COMMITMENT

      • Identify and solve technical, logistical, and operational challenges for the project team. 
      • Support project planning, scheduling, and mobilization activities. 
      • Coordinate equipment, tooling, materials, and manpower requirements.  

      TRUE-CRAFTMANSHIP

      • Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents for field execution. 
      • Provide technical documentation support to project crews and supervision. 
      • Review project documents, submittals, and shop drawings for completeness and accuracy. 
      • Maintain project schedules, tracking reports, inventory records, and field documentation. 
      • Assist with quality inspections, testing activities, commissioning efforts, and project closeout. 
      • Promote first-time quality execution and continuous improvement.

      HIGH-CHARACTER

      • Maintain accountability for assigned project responsibilities. 
      • Support compliance with project standards, customer requirements, and company procedures. 
      • Audit field work and documentation for compliance with project expectations. 
      • Promote safe work practices and reinforce safety as a fundamental project value. 
      • Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail in all interactions. 
      • Perform other duties as assigned. 

      Qualifications:

      • Able to temporarily relocate and live on site 
      • Technically minded
      • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management; equivalent experience considered
