    Description

    Why This Role Matters

    You will be the face of PALFINGER in the field—keeping mission-critical equipment operational and customers confident. This remote position is based in Pittsburgh, PA and reports to the Regional Field Service Manager.

    Your Mission

    1. Restore uptime: troubleshoot and repair articulating cranes, truck-mounted forklifts, conveyors, trucks, and trailers at customer sites.
    2. Prevent problems: execute quarterly preventive maintenance, perform Annual DOT inspections, and complete warranty services.
    3. Answer the call: handle emergency and unscheduled repairs during both standard and off-hours.
    4. Keep stakeholders aligned: explain root causes, repair plans, and timelines to job site contacts and fleet managers.
    5. Document everything: produce accurate estimates, secure work authorizations, order and record parts, and track labor and inventory promptly.
    6. Work safely: comply with federal and state safety regulations; maintain clean work zones and a well-kept company vehicle.

    What It Takes

    • Proven capability across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems; diagnostic acumen; welding proficiency.
    • Field-ready fitness: work in all weather; able to sit, stand, bend, squat, crouch, reach, and lift 75+ lbs for extended periods.
    • Approximately 3 years of mechanical experience or training, with emphasis on articulating cranes and forklifts.
    • Ability to read, write, and speak English effectively.
    • CDL holder or able to obtain within 60 days of employment.
    • Bring your own tools; PALFINGER provides proprietary tooling.
