About the opportunity (Akron, NY)
We’re looking for a hands-on problem solver who enjoys in-home service work and clear communication with customers. You’ll diagnose and fix a wide range of residential appliances and refrigeration units while maintaining high standards of safety and documentation.
Impact you’ll make
- Diagnose issues and complete repairs on refrigerators, washers, dryers, and ovens.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections to ensure reliable operation.
- Explain repair findings, timelines, and care tips to customers.
- Record parts used and services completed with precision.
- Keep skills sharp by learning new appliance technologies and repair techniques.
- Collaborate with peers to solve complex technical problems.
- Work safely and respectfully within customers’ homes.
What sets you up for success
- High school diploma or equivalent; formal technical training in appliance repair is beneficial.
- Background as an appliance repair technician or similar field role.
- Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-resolution skills.
- Clear, courteous communication and customer service orientation.
- Ability to work independently and manage a dynamic schedule.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Familiarity with safety practices and industry regulations.
- Proficiency with soldering/brazing.
