    POSITION SUMMARY

    As a Field Tech, you will play a critical role in supporting field survey operations. This position is designed to provide hands-on experience with surveying equipment, field procedures, and safety protocols. You will work closely under the supervision of Field Chiefs and contribute to the successful execution of survey projects.

     

     

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    FIELD OPERATIONS & EQUIPMENT HANDLING

    • Load and unload all field equipment and batteries daily
    • Charge batteries properly and consistently
    • Maintain truck organization: restock supplies, remove trash, submit receipts, and coordinate vehicle cleaning
    • Clean and maintain field equipment and ensure readiness for daily use
    • Safely and accurately set up field equipment including:
      • Data Collector
      • Robotic Total Station
      • GPS Base

     

    TECHNICAL SKILLS & SUPPORT

    • Develop a basic understanding of field equipment and its purpose
    • Operate equipment under supervision of Field Chief
    • Begin learning codes
    • Assist with project setup and execution in the field
    • Take directions from Field Chief to efficiently complete tasks
    • Interact professionally with client representatives and landowners

     

    SAFETY & COMPLIANCE

    • Attend safety meetings
    • Follow all OSHA standards, company safety protocols, and wear required PPE
    • Stay hydrated and communicate any health concerns immediately
    • Seek guidance from the Safety Coordinator or Joseph Lopez when needed
    • Comply with work schedule and overtime policies listed in Employee Handbook

     

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

     

    Education:       High School Diploma or equivalent

     

    Experience:     1 year of consecutive employment in any industry

     

    Requirements:

    • Valid driver's license
    • Reliable transportation to/from work
    • Smartphone
    • Physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain.

     

    Skills & Abilities:    

    • Follow directions with positive can-do attitude
    • Ask questions to build knowledge & understanding of surveying and project specifics
    • Communicate, collaborate with, & be respectful to co-workers
    • Perform tasks safely under OSHA standards (including, but not limited to, wearing appropriate safety attire: vest, glasses, gloves, steel-toe work boots, hard hat)

     

    Workplace Environment: 

    • Field-based with exposure to construction sites, rural terrain, and weather conditions.
    • May require early mornings, overtime, or travel depending on project schedules.
    • Regular lifting of equipment up to 50lbs and extensive walking on uneven ground.
