Job Description: Field Assistant Construction Cleaner (Post-Drywall / Texture)

We are seeking a dependable Commercial Construction Cleaner to clean and prepare job sites after drywall finishing and texture spraying. This position focuses on removing drywall dust, primer/texture overspray, and construction debris so areas are clean, safe, and ready for the next phase of construction such as painting, flooring installation, or final inspection.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean commercial & residential construction sites following drywall finishing and texture spraying.
  • Remove drywall dust, sanding residue, and texture overspray from floors, walls, windows, and fixtures.
  • Sweep and vacuum floors to remove drywall dust and construction debris.
  • Clean windows and window frames to remove drywall dust, overspray, and fingerprints.
  • Dust and wipe down surfaces including doors, baseboards, trim, cabinets, ledges, and vents.
  • Clean light fixtures, vents, and other surfaces affected by drywall dust.
  • Remove trash, scrap drywall pieces, masking materials, and job site debris.
  • Operate basic cleaning equipment such as shop vacuums, brooms, and dusting tools.
  • Follow safety procedures while working around ladders, tools, and active construction areas.
  • Ensure work areas are left clean and ready for painters, flooring installers, or final walkthroughs.
  • Report damage, safety concerns, or incomplete drywall work to supervisors.

Qualifications:

  • Previous construction cleaning or janitorial experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work in dusty construction environments.
  • Ability to lift up to 40-50 lbs.
  • Comfortable standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing ladders throughout the shift.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Valid Drivers License

Work Environment:

  • Active construction sites working in all weather
  • Exposure to drywall dust and construction materials.
  • Work may include weekend or evening hours depending on project schedules.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent bending, lifting, reaching, and walking.
  • Ability to carry cleaning equipment and debris.
  • Must be able to work on ladders when needed.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with post-drywall cleaning or construction cleanup.
  • Experience using shop vacuums and dust control tools.
  • Understanding of construction site safety practices.
