Job Summary:
As a Field Applications Scientist (FAS), you are the Technical product expert in the field and will provide technical application and product support of Nova Biomedical's PAT Biotechnology products (BioProfile brand) to some of the industrys leading Pharma and Biotechnology companies, predominantly involved in the Bioprocessing and Cell & Gene Therapy development and manufacturing spaces. You will work with the existing and future customer base in your territory and the Sales Account Managers and other team members.
Responsibilities:
- Provides applications support for product integration into small scale development labs, pilot facilities, and GMP manufacturing facilities to emphasize best in class product support and drive territorial quota and individual goals
- Applications perform onsite visits to new and existing customers to optimize and configure cell counts, pH, gas, and metabolite readings of BioProfile products using customer culture and materials. Correlation and bridging studies are performed to existing customer/competitive product technology enabling seamless integration and enhanced usage of Nova products
- Facilitates product trending and competitive analysis to Sales Account Managers and Product Management, for both existing products and in-development technology.
- Communicates product issues with Technical Support, R&D and Manufacturing, provides customer support, as needed, alongside the Field Service and Technical support team.
- Provides assistance to Regional Account manager during product sales demonstrations and customer evaluations of BioProfile product offerings
- As a Advanced Technical Trainer you will be providing industry leading technical training and product configuration assistance and guidance to key operators and users of Nova's BioProfile product line
- Field visits will be shared in the CRM and customer reports are necessary to provide details of evaluations and onsite testing/configuration of BioProfile products. Reports provide both documentation for customer GMP adherence and to demonstrate product performance during the sales process.
- Generate technical collateral and marketing materials, including white papers, application notes, and webinars
Experience Requirements:
- Successful candidates will have a BS or MS in Biology or Life Sciences, and a minimum of 2 - 5 years experience in a biotech/pharma company working in process development and/or a GMP controlled manufacturing or research environment. Experience with mammalian cell culture or bacterial fermentation for biologics development and production is highly desired. Ability to travel up to 75%.
- Candidates with experience in antibody assay development and characterization, validations, process automation, bioreactor and cell culture process development and/or prior experience with Nova BioProfile equipment or other cell culture process monitoring equipment will be given additional consideration.
- The ability to understand and educate end users on analytical devices and instrument specifications, operation and maintenance, perform data analysis with software programs such as JMP or Excel and scientific report generation in support of various applications.
- Strong communication, presentation, training and interpersonal skills are a must.
- Ability to travel within the U.S. is required and must be willing to perform occasional international travel.

Work Location: Remote, Field Southwest Region
Targeted Salary Range: $85,000 - $105,000/year.
