The Position

The Field Application Specialist (FAS) is an important new role in the Sales team of Novo Nordisk Pharmatech. The FAS will act together with our US Sales representatives helping to build a closer relation to our customers and help us launch new enzymatic products in the market in coming years.

We're looking for a Field Application Specialist to become a strategic technical partner to our customers and commercial teams. In this role, you will help shape how leading biopharmaceutical companies adopt and apply our recombinant insulin and enzyme technologies, enabling successful implementation while contributing directly to the growth of our business.

Relationship

Reports to the Associate Director of Strategic Marketing in Novo Nordisk Pharmatech Denmark. Close collaboration with US Sales Representative, Strategic Marketing and Global Sales dept. Interacts with customers of Novo Nordisk Pharmatech (Pfizer, Amgen, Lonza, Bayer, Fujifilm)

Essential Functions

As our US-based Field Application Specialist, you will be a key contributor to Novo Nordisk Pharmatech's commercial success across the region. Acting as the scientific voice in customer engagements, you will combine technical excellence with commercial insight to strengthen strategic customer relationships, accelerate product adoption, and translate customer needs into opportunities for innovation.

Rather than simply supporting existing applications, you will help define future opportunities by connecting customer insights, market trends and scientific knowledge across the organisation. The FAS will act together with our US Sales representatives helping to build a closer relation to our customers and help us launch new enzymatic products in the market in coming years.

  • Main tasks:

  • Jointly drive account growth together with Account Managers forming high impact account teams

  • Jointly work on progressing key opportunities

  • Build network within customers

  • Help build a strong value proposition for customer meetings

  • Prepare and help execute on product launches

  • Responsibility for managing customer product testing (design of test protocols, ongoing communication with customers, trouble shooting, provide material to help customers prove business case)

  • Support existing customers, with trouble shooting, documentation (regulatory) support on customer pre-screening Trypsin/DisoNNex (evaluate if new lead companies represent a sustainable business opportunity)

  • Gather market and feedback input from market in a systematic way (by participating in conferences, customer meeting, literature search)

  • Secondary tasks:

  • Manage customer testing activities for products not yet released in the market

  • Sales training (train new sales rep, (with the support of Strategic Marketing)

  • Creation of technical marketing content in collaboration with Product owner. (Writing application note, visual conceptualization of selling points)

  • Conference presentation of application data

Physical Requirements

This position can be based anywhere in the United States (remotely-based). Approximately 30% overnight travel with valid drivers license.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors required, MSc or PhD in biology, cell biology or similar preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Field Application Specialist preferred, preferably in a commercial function or similar position in a Pharma/Pharma tech company
  • 5+ years' experience with cell culture media and bioprocessing, possible lab experience
  • As a customer facing profile, high integrity
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting
  • Ability to analyze and solve challenges

The base compensation range for this position is $99,000 to $140,000. Base compensation is determined based on a number of factors. This position is also eligible for a company bonus based on individual and company performance.
