    Commercial construction and data center projects continue to expand across Texas, creating strong demand for skilled fiber technicians. If you have experience with fiber optic installations, splicing, terminations, testing, and structured cabling, this is an excellent opportunity to put your skills to work on long-term, high-profile projects.

    TradeSTAR is seeking experienced Level II Fiber Technicians for immediate openings with one of our client partners. These positions support commercial construction and data center projects throughout Texas, offering the opportunity to work with advanced fiber infrastructure while continuing to develop your career.

    Your Role: Level II Fiber Technician

    As a Level II Technician, you'll play an important role installing and supporting structured cabling and fiber optic infrastructure on commercial construction and data center projects.

    Working alongside Lead Technicians, Foremen, Superintendents, and Project Managers, you'll help deliver high-quality installations while supporting production schedules and mentoring less experienced technicians.

    Responsibilities Include:

    • Splicing, terminating, and testing fiber optic cabling

    • Installing and terminating Cat6 and Cat6A structured cabling

    • Performing fiber enclosure, LIU, and patch panel terminations

    • Testing and certifying copper and fiber using Fluke and fiber test equipment

    • Reading blueprints, riser diagrams, and construction drawings

    • Installing cable tray, ladder rack, J-hooks, and support pathways

    • Assisting with rack-and-stack installations and MDF/IDF buildouts

    • Supporting data center installations, upgrades, and MAC work

    • Leading and mentoring Helper and Level I Technicians

    • Maintaining clean, organized, and safe work areas

    What We're Looking For

    • 2 4+ years of structured cabling or Voice & Data experience

    • Hands-on fusion fiber splicing, termination, and testing experience

    • Experience with ribbon fiber highly preferred

    • Experience installing and terminating copper cabling

    • Familiarity with Fluke testers, OTDRs, and fiber certification equipment preferred

    • Ability to read blueprints and network drawings

    • Leadership or crew mentoring experience is a plus

    • Knowledge of EIA/TIA standards preferred

    • Comfortable working in commercial construction and data center environments

    • Reliable transportation and a professional attitude
