We are looking for technicians who understand fiber-optic infrastructure beyond basic cable installation and have practical experience installing, terminating, testing, troubleshooting, and validating fiber connections.
Ideal candidates will bring direct experience with PON infrastructure, Inside Plant (ISP) cabling, fiber splicing, optical testing, and/or circuit auditing within data center, telecommunications, or other mission-critical environments.
This is a hands-on technical role requiring attention to detail, independent troubleshooting capabilities, and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and accurate documentation.
PON Infrastructure & Fiber Installation
Install, maintain, test, and troubleshoot Passive Optical Network (PON) infrastructure and associated fiber-optic connections.
Install, pull, route, dress, organize, and label single-mode and multi-mode fiber-optic cabling.
Perform fiber termination, mechanical and/or fusion splicing, and connectivity activities.
Support Inside Plant (ISP) fiber cabling installations, including racks, patch panels, fiber pathways, and structured cabling systems.
Clean, inspect, and maintain fiber connectors to ensure reliable network connectivity.
Fiber Testing & Troubleshooting
Perform fiber testing, signal verification, and end-to-end connectivity validation.
Utilize OTDR, optical power meters, light sources, Visual Fault Locators (VFL), fiber scopes, and other fiber testing equipment.
Interpret optical testing results, identify signal loss, and troubleshoot physical-layer connectivity issues.
Diagnose damaged connectors, fiber breaks, excessive loss, contamination, polarity issues, and incorrect cable routing.
Perform corrective actions and retest connections to verify successful resolution.
Circuit Auditing & Documentation
Conduct fiber circuit audits, cable tracing, and connectivity verification.
Validate fiber connections against port maps, cable schedules, network drawings, and project documentation.
Identify and resolve discrepancies involving fiber routing, labeling, and connectivity.
Maintain accurate testing records, audit findings, corrective actions, and installation documentation.
Safety & Project Execution
Work collaboratively with project teams while independently completing assigned technical tasks.
Follow all site safety, PPE, ESD, quality-control, and installation requirements.
Maintain clean, organized, and compliant work areas within an active data center environment.
Required Qualifications
3.5–9 years of relevant hands-on experience in fiber optics, telecommunications, structured cabling, or data center infrastructure.
Demonstrated experience with fiber-optic cable installation, termination, splicing, and troubleshooting.
Hands-on experience with fiber testing equipment, including OTDR, optical power meters, VFL, or comparable tools.
Experience with Inside Plant (ISP) cabling, structured cabling, and/or fiber connectivity validation.
Ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve fiber connectivity and signal issues independently.
Experience reading and interpreting fiber plans, port maps, cable schedules, and technical documentation.
