Job Summary
As the Fiber Splicing Technician, you will ultimately be responsible for splicing, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing fiber optic cables. You will coordinate fiber installation, maintenance, and network troubleshooting while delivering high-quality and reliable connectivity solutions. As the Fiber Splicing Technician, your customers are Congruex field teams and telecommunications partners, and you will make meaningful contributions to the company’s success through network reliability, quality workmanship, and safe field execution.

Key Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to)
• Perform end-of-line testing to verify light levels and balanced signal transmission
• Prepare, label, and organize fiber optic cables for accurate installation and splicing
• Build, splice, seal, and maintain fiber cases, enclosures, tie points, and jumper cases
• Read and interpret splice matrices, prints, and redline maps to understand routes and assignments
• Perform troubleshooting, audits, case swaps, and rehabilitation of fiber enclosures
• Pull, splice, and activate underground and aerial fiber lines using manual, blowing, or mechanical methods
• Additional responsibilities within functional scope based on business needs

Required Qualifications

Education, Licensing, and Certifications
• OSHA 10 certification required
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Experience
• Experience in fiber splicing, telecommunications construction, or fiber optic installation
• Experience reading blueprints, splice matrices, and utility maps

Skills and Abilities
• Ability to perform physical labor and work in confined spaces, at heights, and on ladders or poles
• Ability to distinguish colors accurately for proper fiber connections
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment
• Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and documentation
• Ability to maintain safe, organized, and efficient work practices

Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience with aerial and underground fiber installations
• Familiarity with fiber splicing equipment and testing tools

Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, squat, and work in physically demanding positions for extended periods
• Work performed outdoors, in all weather conditions, in confined spaces, and at heights
• Must be able to wear required PPE including safety boots, glasses, and hardhat
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
