Comfortable working aboard ships, in shipyards, confined spaces, on ladders, and in industrial environments with varying temperatures, heat, humidity, noise, and other challenging conditions. Genesis Industrial Ventures is seeking experienced Fiber Optic Technician.


Key Responsibilities:

• Install, route, tag, band, terminate, label, inspect, and test single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cable assemblies.
  
  
• Perform work in accordance with customer specs (drawings, wiring lists, and cable routing diagrams)
  
  
• Perform fiber optic connector termination.
  
  
• Use optical test equipment to conduct in-process and final testing of installed cable assemblies.
  
  
• Troubleshoot, repair, and correct damaged or non-conforming cable assemblies.
  
  
• Maintain accurate test, inspection, and certification records.
  
  
• Ensure proper setup and calibration of termination and test equipment.
  
  
• Perform work in accordance with customer specifications.
  
  

Requirements:

• High school diploma, GED, or industrial school certificate.
  
  
• Minimum of 3–5 years of shipboard experience.
  
  
• Previous certification, or the ability to quickly obtain certification, in fiber optic connectorization and inspection of shipboard cable assemblies.
  
  
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET Security Clearance (Not mandatory but a plus)
  
  
• Must pass a drug test and background check.
  
  
• Ability to read, understand, and follow work requirements, technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
  
  
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stretch, reach, squat, twist, and perform physically demanding work for extended periods.
  
  
• Ability to lift, carry, and transport equipment and materials weighing at least 30 lbs.
  
  
• Comfortable working aboard ships, in shipyards, confined spaces, on ladders, and in industrial environments with varying temperatures, heat, humidity, noise, and other challenging conditions.
