The position requires a good working knowledge of fiber optic networks and their related equipment to provide maximum operating efficiency. Primary Role and Responsibilities for the I&R Technician Installation, maintenance, and repairing of fiber optic systems for residential and commercial customersResponsible for building and maintaining splice closures when applicableOperates and maintains vehicle, tools, fusion splicer, test equipment and other company owned equipment in accordance with system guidelines and proceduresPlace aerial or buried fiber optic drops and install interior and exterior wiringComplete pre-install work order and post-install service verification and customer education to ensure customer satisfaction.Observe all safety rules and OSHA regulationsWork at heights by using/setting up various types of laddersWork in confined spacesUse internal systems for work order notation and time keepingKeep customer appointments Secondary Role and Responsibilities for the I&R TechnicianRF Install and service call when neededAssisting mainline technicians dependent on work load What you need to be successful in this role: Ability to work in all weather conditionsExperience with handling fiber optic cable and splice enclosuresResidential and commercial installation experienceAbility to work long hours standing /sitting in a single positionAbility to read and correctly interpret prints, and splice matrixValid class E driver's license and good driving recordHigh School Diploma or GED Compensation:Competitive PayInsurance 401KMedical, Vision, DentalPaid Time offLocal work
