FHS Digitization Technician (Terrier Temp)

Be a part of the renowned Framingham Heart Study (FHS) and contribute to an important medical records digitization project. We are seeking three dedicated Digitization Technicians to work on-site and help convert paper medical records into a secure electronic format. This is a temporary position within the Health Information Management (HIM) Department.

Located in the heart of Framingham, MA, this role offers a unique opportunity to work in a collaborative environment while gaining valuable experience in health information management.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare paper medical records for digitization.
• Scan, index, and organize electronic records.
• Perform quality assurance reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive health information.
• Follow FHS, Boston University, and HIPAA guidelines.
• Assist with document management and archiving activities as needed.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
• Ability to lift and move records/files up to 25 pounds.

Preferences:

• Experience with document scanning, records management, data entry, or administrative support.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
