Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced FHIR SME with strong healthcare data and interoperability expertise. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with FHIR, HL7, healthcare data mapping, profiling, validation, and clinical data standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform healthcare data analysis and profiling of raw/source data.
  • Define and document data requirements for onboarding new healthcare data sources.
  • Determine approaches for healthcare data interoperability and map clinical content to appropriate data standards.
  • Analyze and validate healthcare data models, vocabularies, terminologies, and code sets.
  • Develop source-to-target mappings for converting raw healthcare data into FHIR format.
  • Analyze healthcare data received from different applications and vendors.
  • Perform functional testing and validation of FHIR outputs.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to identify root causes and remediate data quality issues.
  • Work with business stakeholders to translate data requirements into technical requirements.
  • Document workflows, data mappings, requirements, and process diagrams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve clinical data quality, conformance, and standardization.

Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of Data/IT Engineering experience in the Healthcare domain.
  • Strong knowledge of FHIR APIs and FHIR Resources.
  • Hands-on experience with HL7 v2 to FHIR data mapping.
  • Strong understanding of HL7 V2, HL7 FHIR, HL7 CCDA/CCD, and IHE ITI transactions.
  • Experience with HL7 messages including ADT, ORM, ORU, RDE, and MDM.
  • Experience developing Source-to-Target mappings.
  • Experience with functional testing and validation of FHIR data.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare/clinical data in proprietary and industry-standard formats.
  • Knowledge of healthcare terminology and standards.
  • Experience identifying and improving healthcare data quality and conformance.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a changing environment and manage priorities.
