From the first work order you review to the final label you apply, your day revolves around precision. As a Fenestration Adhesive Bonding Technician, you bring window and door components together through expert surface prep, accurate adhesive mixing, and careful alignment—delivering assemblies that meet exacting quality standards.
You start by reading production schedules, drawings, and assembly instructions. You gather the correct window and door parts, clean and prep each surface, and then measure, mix, and apply approved adhesives to spec. You position and align components with care, secure them using clamps, presses, rollers, fixtures, and hand tools, and remove excess adhesive or sealant to keep a clean finish. Throughout the process, you verify dimensions, alignment, fit, and overall workmanship. You inspect finished parts for gaps, weak bonds, misalignment, surface damage, or other defects, and you promptly report damaged, incorrect, or defective materials to your supervisor. You follow defined curing times and material-handling procedures, complete production records and quality documentation, and stage completed assemblies for the next operation. You hit daily production and quality goals without compromising safety, keep your area organized and hazard-free, follow all safety procedures around adhesives, solvents, and manufacturing materials, and wear all required PPE. You also lend a hand with additional production or assembly tasks as assigned.
