    SUMMARY:

    Lion Ambassadors are a group of individuals with a positive and fun attitude, and a sincere desire to help others. They are a dynamic group of current students who serve the University and positively introduce and promote East Texas A&M in their role as official tour guides, student recruiters, and student representatives. As a tour guide, a Lion Ambassador is responsible for introducing prospective students, parents, and guests to the East Texas A&M campus through a well-organized, friendly, and informative tour.

    As student recruiters, Lion Ambassadors are trained to provide excellent customer service as they provide general, yet accurate information regarding admissions, financial aid, housing, student life, and other student services available on campus. Lion Ambassadors, under general supervision, identify, recruit, and contribute to increasing the population of admitted, enrolled, and underrepresented students.

     As a student representative, a Lion Ambassador serves as a leader and a role model among their peers, providing a positive image and good character to prospective students, current students, and the East Texas A&M community. Lion Ambassadors also help to oversee the front desk at the Welcome Center where they welcome prospective students and guests and help to answer any questions they might have.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1.    Provides prospective student, families, and guest with a walking tour of campus

    2.   Engages, recruits, and contributes to increasing the population of new incoming students.

    3.    Provides assistance in greeting visitors and directing visitors to appropriate staff members.

    4.    Assists in the preparation and implementation of departmental project/program activities (including, but not limited to, Admitted Student Day, Mane Event and Large Group Tours).

    5.    Ability to communicate professionally and courteously with university faculty and staff, students, and the public.

    6.    Advises prospective students about admissions statuses, policies, and office programs

    7.    Performs other related duties as assigned.

    8.  Contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with others.

    9.  Attend all mandatory retreats/trainings

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    ·        Education: Maintain a 2.25 institutional Cumulative GPA

    Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

    ·        Ability to provide exceptional customer service

    ·        Effective oral communication skills

    ·        Must be an undergraduate student who will have completed one full semester of full-time study at East A&M, in good academic standing, making satisfactory academic progress status, with no pending or final conduct charges nor rulings: and satisfactory academic progress for federal financial aid.

    ·        Licensing/Professional Certifications: Valid driver’s license.

    ·        Physical Requirements: Ability to lift moderately heavy objects, as well as the ability to lead a group of students, parents, and guests around campus in a timely manner.
