ECU Department of Alumni Relations is currently seeking several Office Assistants.

The Office Assistants will be expected to assist with the following:

  • Help create a welcoming environment.
  • Acknowledge and greet all guests.
  • In-office tasks including email communication, proofreading, document preparation, event attendance tracking, scanning, mailing letters, etc.
  • Assist with answering the Alumni Association main phone line and assisting guests with questions, comments, and concerns in a professional manner, or relay messages to appropriate contacts.
  • Be able to operate common office equipment such as computers, copiers, scanners.
  • Assist with all Alumni Association social media platforms including Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
  • Assist with the visual brand of the Alumni Association across print, digital and some audio/video platforms
  • Assist with setups and break downs for events. Safely lift and arrange tables, chairs, and other items required for set-up completion. Break down tables, chairs, and other items.
  • Communicate and work collaboratively with Alumni Association staff regarding fundraising activities and promotional initiatives that require coordination, set up, preparation and additional staffing needs.
  • Interact professionally and effectively with co-workers, donors and stakeholders on all levels, including face-to-face, phone and electronic communications.
  • Build quality relationships and work collaboratively and professionally with University staff and students, and all constituents and stakeholders.
  • Serve as a positive role model. Serve the needs of students, staff, faculty, and University guests. Be mindful of social media tags and posts. Represent East Carolina University positively.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Hourly rate is $12.50.
