Fashion Designer (New York, NY.) Work as part of women’s design team to develop apparel lines. Create & grade patterns; interpret & create print motifs for fabric embellishment. Source trims & prepare production spec sheets. Assist with first samples, conduct fittings on fit models, make required pattern adjustments. Review fabricated samples & modify designs/prints to estimate consumer acceptance of new styles of clothing in Hand embroidery, fusion wear, ethnic design. Collaborate with textile designers, manufacturers, buyers to translate concepts into flat patterns & develop new womenswear ideas using knowledge of textiles & fashion trends to achieve desired effect using Illustrator & Photoshop.
