    Highlights

After lunch, you calibrate iRVision (2D or 3D/3DV Area Sensor) to tighten pick/place accuracy, then teach paths, verify mechanical/tooling alignment, and dry-cycle lines to reduce bottlenecks. Commissioning & runoff: Execute offline/online path teaching, mechanical/tooling alignment, and line dry-cycling through production ramp-up.

    Description

Make Your Mark on a High-Priority Automotive Launch

We are seeking seasoned FANUC Robot Programmers to drive a critical automotive integration in Toledo, OH. You will begin with 1–2 weeks on-site at our Wixom, MI facility and then move to the plant floor in Toledo to carry the project through commissioning and ramp-up.

    A Day in the Life

You arrive at the cell with a fresh program concept and a clear read on GM Global Robotics Standards (GRS). Using the FANUC Teach Pendant on R-30iB/Plus controllers, you build from zero—structuring routines, mapping I/O, and configuring DCS safe zones. By midday, you’re synchronizing PLC handshakes and validating cycle sequences. After lunch, you calibrate iRVision (2D or 3D/3DV Area Sensor) to tighten pick/place accuracy, then teach paths, verify mechanical/tooling alignment, and dry-cycle lines to reduce bottlenecks. As production ramps, you troubleshoot faults, refine motion, and squeeze seconds off the cycle without compromising safety.

    What You Will Tackle

    • Program from scratch: Develop, modify, and debug FANUC robot code end-to-end following GM GRS.
    • Safety and interlocks: Configure and validate DCS, safe zones, cycle sequences, and PLC handshakes.
    • Vision integration: Set up, calibrate, and troubleshoot FANUC iRVision (2D or 3DV/3D Area Sensor).
    • Commissioning & runoff: Execute offline/online path teaching, mechanical/tooling alignment, and line dry-cycling through production ramp-up.
    • On-site plant support: Diagnose bottlenecks and faults, and optimize throughput on the floor.

    Required Qualifications

    • Hands-on FANUC programming on R-30iB/Plus controllers.
    • Recent, real-world implementation of GM GRS on a plant floor (certification alone is not sufficient).
    • Demonstrated ability to build full robot programs from the ground up—no templates.
    • Willing and able to work in Toledo, OH following 1–2 weeks of initial training in Wixom, MI.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • FANUC iRVision experience (2D or 3DV/3D Area Sensor); strong 3DV experience may qualify for higher billing/pay rates.
    • Experience with collaborative robots (FANUC CR / CRX series).
