    POSITION SUMMARY

    Under general direction, the Family Treatment Court Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and administration of the Family Treatment Court program. The Coordinator works with judges, attorneys, child welfare professionals, treatment providers, court personnel, and community agencies to facilitate the effective delivery of services to participating families.

    This position is responsible for coordinating program activities, monitoring participant progress, obtaining and maintaining records and data, applying for grants, facilitating multidisciplinary team communication, preparing reports, and ensuring program activities comply with court policies, applicable standards, and grant requirements.

    PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Writes grant proposals and identifies and enlists community partners to increase funding for the assigned specialty Court. Monitors all grant and donated expenditures and prepares reports for funding bodies. Prepares participant summaries, reports, statistics, grant documentation, and other program-related materials.

    2. Prepares budget and approves expenditures approved under final budget, monitoring expenditures and revenues.

    3. Initiates and coordinates weekly meetings of the Family Treatment Court Team. Develops and distributes meeting agendas. Coordinates communication among team members. Ensures files on all participants are maintained as needed and acts as liaison to community agencies, performing site visits for inpatient and outpatient programs to keep current on program services and identify programs best fitting treatment needs, and helps develop any contracts/memorandums of understanding with outside agencies.

    • Coordinates referrals and access to substance use disorder treatment, mental health services, parenting education, and other community resources.
    • Assists with participant screening, assessment, enrollment, phase advancement, and graduation.
    • Coordinates incentives, sanctions, and recognition activities in accordance with program policies.
    • Serves as a liaison between participating families, the court, treatment providers, child welfare agencies, and other service providers.
    • Once trained, will assist with staff training, program development, quality improvement, and implementation of evidence-based Family Treatment Court practices.
    • Maintains relationships with community service providers and assists in identifying available resources for participating families.
    • Assists with grant compliance, program evaluation, outcome measurement, and required reporting.
    • Attends professional training, conferences, meetings, and site visits as required.
    1. Facilitates community presentations to promote the program and develop community resources.

    2. Implements and maintains data collection system to monitor participant compliance, identify trends, and provide a basis for program evaluation. Maintains accurate and confidential participant records, case information, and program data.

    3. Works in conjunction with the Family Treatment Court Judge and Treatment Team to update policies/procedures as necessary based on evidence-based practices and emerging research. Remains informed of current programs and services through self-directed research and study.

    4. Collaborates and networks with other service providers to enhance and support the operation of the Court. Participates in the development and delivery of community awareness and outreach activities as requested.

    5. Coordinates recreational/social activities for Family Treatment Court participants and staff.

    6. Maintains awareness of current developments in the area of Family Treatment Court issues as well as methods to improve service delivery.

    7. Serves as a member of the Family Treatment Court Team.

    8. Performs other tasks as assigned.

    9. Coordinates the daily operations and activities of the Family Treatment Court.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Bachelor"s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, criminal justice, psychology, human services, public administration, or a related field, and relevant professional experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

    Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with child welfare, substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, court services, case management, or families involved in the juvenile or family court system. Experience coordinating multidisciplinary programs is preferred.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    Knowledge of family treatment court principles, child welfare, substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, and community-based services. Ability to coordinate multiple activities, maintain confidential records, communicate effectively with diverse professionals and families, analyze and report data, and work independently while functioning effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Strong organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are required. Must possess writing skills necessary to complete reports for use by the court and other professionals as well as grant applications. Bilingual, English/Spanish language skills preferred.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    Work is primarily performed in a professional office and courtroom environment. Regular interaction with court personnel, attorneys, treatment providers, social service agencies, participants, and members of the public is required. Occasional travel for training, conferences, meetings, and site visits may be required. Ability to transport oneself throughout the Sixteenth Circuit in order to accomplish job performance requirements.
