    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Family Support Coordinator-DSS Family Centered Program-Kingston Motel will be responsible for aiding Ulster County Department of Social Services (DSS) clients residing at the Kingston motel.

    The Family Support Coordinator will coordinate with the DSS Family Centered Program Case Managers to assist clients placed at the Kingston motel with meeting their housing stability goals. Tasks will include crisis intervention support, housing navigation, and assistance with completing housing and service-related paperwork to meet case management goals.

    This is a RUPCO position but will be seated primarily at the Kingston motel with some community-based travel to local agencies including Ulster County DSS. This is a full-time position with benefits. RUPCO staff work a 4-day, 32-hour work week. Hours are in the evening from 2:30pm to 11pm but there is some flexibility in start or end time.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Collaborate with DSS staff and the Family Centered case management team to respond to client housing needs as they arise
    • Responsible for meeting with residents on site
    • Promote safety of all residents
    • Provide crisis intervention services
    • Develop and implement structured recreational activities for families
    • Assist with the completion of housing applications and other related paperwork
    • Assist with resume development, and financial literacy including budgeting and planning
    • Track progress obtaining supports identified in goal planning
    • Responsible for ensuring confidentiality of client files
    • Responsible for data entry of clients in all applicable databases
    • Conduct unit inspections as needed
    • Other duties as assigned

    • Maintain a safe work environment in a clean, organized, and safe manner. Conduct daily inspections of work areas to look for unsafe conditions
    • Actively participate in health and safety practices and accident prevention
    • Ensure all accidents are reported to supervisor and Human Resources, thoroughly investigated, and properly documented. Investigate near-miss incidents to determine root cause to promote accident prevention
    • Use all required safety devices and personal protective equipment

    • Demonstrate positive work attitudes and habits. Act as a role model for success for individuals
    • Maintain a clean and neat appearance consistent with agency standards
    • Attend all required meetings and trainings
    • Participate in training programs for professional growth as scheduled and approved
    • Responsible for understanding and adhering to RUPCO Inc.'s applicable program rules, regulations, and policies Salary:$22-$23 hourly

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Education:

    • High school diploma required

    Experience:

    • A minimum of 2 years of experience working in the human services field is required
    • Experience with homeless, vulnerable populations preferred
    • Experience working with families in crisis preferred

    Skills:

    • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with

    diverse groups

    Ability to work as a team player

    • Computer literacy and database experience in excel and access helpful
    • Must have a current driver's license and reliable vehicle for travel
