Details
- Position type: Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Physician Assistant.
- Setting: Inpatient behavioral hospital.
- Full-time or part-time available.
- Conduct comprehensive medical assessments, including initial history and physicals (H&Ps) within 24 hours of admission, follow-ups, and discharge planning.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, and support staff to create integrated treatment plans addressing medical and mental health needs.
- Co-manage patients with complex medical comorbidities alongside mental health providers.
- Educate patients and families on medical conditions, medications, and lifestyle adjustments to enhance overall health.
- Provide medical consults and recommend diagnostic tests and treatments as needed.
- Deliver emergency care within your licensure scope until specialized care is available.
Requirements
- Licensure: Active Alaska Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant license or the ability to obtain licensure prior to start.
- Education: Completion of an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program.
- Certification: AANPCB, ANCC, or NCCPA board certification.
Experience:
- Prior clinical experience in an inpatient or acute care setting preferred; behavioral health experience a plus.
- New graduates with relevant clinical training and strong interest in behavioral health will be considered.
