This position supports recovering and formerly homeless families living in Alcohol and Drug-Free Community (AFDC) housing by providing advocacy, family mentoring, and other support. The Mentor acts to ensure the stability of families and assigned properties, and will be familiar with and able to access resources for residents, including childcare, employment assistance and training, transportation and other services. The Family Mentor will be someone who is comfortable and advanced in his or her own recovery, and will have a good understanding of professional boundaries and appropriate behavior. Non-binary individuals will have the skills needed to support and assist residents in maintaining recovery, retaining housing, parenting safely and effectively, and achieving self-sufficiency.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm
Location: Cambridge Court (5224 N Vancouver Ave. Portland, OR 97217)
Compensation: $25.05 - $33.24/hr

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GED or High school Diploma required
Peer Support Specialist or Certified Recovery Mentor required.
Must be registered with MHACBO as a Certified Recovery Mentor OR
Must be a certified Peer Support Specialist (or Peer Wellness Specialist) and be registered as a Traditional Health Worker on the THW registry.
Experience in human or social services, working with low-income families preferred.
Experience working or volunteering with children (e.g., school, daycare, youth programs, etc.) preferred.
Flexible work schedule required; may include some evenings and weekends.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. This includes clearance by the DHS Background Check Unit
Must have standard First Aid Certificate and current CPR/Adult and CPR/Infant-Child certification prior to start.
Must possess a current driver's license, access to a vehicle, qualify as an Acceptable Driver as designated in Central City Concern's Fleet Safety policy. Must pass an initial driver training within 60 days of being an approved driver and continued recertification training. Must maintain vehicle insurance coverage of a minimum of $100,000/$300,000 personal auto liability coverage.
Will be required to carry an agency cell phone for work use. Cell phone will be provided by Central City Concern.
