Buena Vista Regional Medical Center is a critical access hospital that serves 25,000 people. Annually, they deliver around 350 babies, perform 3,000 surgeries, and have 57,000 outpatient visits.

Opportunity ------------

• Opportunity to provide full-spectrum family medicine services to a diverse population in a rural community
• Two established UnityPoint primary care practices in Storm Lake: Buena Vista Clinic & Family Health Center
• Cohesive group of Family Medicine, Family Medicine with OB, and Internal Medicine Physicians and Advanced Practitioners
• Experienced staff, both clinical and non-clinical, who know the patients extremely well
• Array of services and visiting specialists to serve patients in the community
• Full-time position, including dedicated administrative time, with flexible scheduling to ensure sufficient patient access
• Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on Epic EMR to improve care coordination

Responsibilities ----------------

• Average of 20-25 patients per day
• Clinic open Monday - Friday, 8a - 5p
• General family medicine procedures, such as joint injections, skin excisions, lacerations, casting, etc.
• Provide prenatal/postpartum care and perform deliveries, cesarean sections (optional)
• Evaluates, interprets, and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care
• Patient-focused, friendly, and willing to collaborate in a team environment
• Excellent communication, written and verbal, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve

Qualifications --------------

• MD or DO
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine
• Complete an obstetrics fellowship or meet hospital criteria to perform cesareans
• Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of [State]
• Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physicians field of practice
• Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap-exempt)
• J-1 waiver sponsorship available
• ACLS, NRP, also required if practicing obstetrics
