    Position Details

    Education and Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College/University.
    • Valid Michigan Teaching Certification.
    • Michigan Teacher Endorsement of KH (Family & Consumer Sciences).
    • CTE Vocational Certification.
    • Content area expertise of State Standards & related Career and Technical Education standards.
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong organizational skills including the ability to be detail oriented.

    Job Roles & Responsibilities

    • Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction aligned with the State Standards and District curriculum.
    • Utilize research-based instructional strategies to promote critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving.
    • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of each learner.
    • Integrate literacy, mathematics, technology, and employability skills into daily instruction.
    • Utilize instructional technology to enhance student engagement and learning.
    • Develop and implement project-based learning experiences that promote the application of knowledge and skills in meaningful contexts.
    • Assess student learning using formative and summative assessments.
    • Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback.
    • Analyze assessment data to adjust instruction and improve student achievement.
    • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and academic progress.
    • Support students in establishing academic and career goals.
    • Create a safe, organized, and engaging classroom and laboratory environment.
    • Prepare students for postsecondary education, careers, and lifelong learning.
    • Integrate career awareness, workforce readiness, and employability skills into instruction.
    • Develop partnerships with local businesses, industry professionals, and community organizations.
    • Coordinate career exploration opportunities, guest speakers, job shadowing, and work-based learning experiences for all learners.
    • Support Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs), such as Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), when applicable.
    • Build positive relationships with students and families.
    • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to improve curriculum, instruction, and student achievement.
    • Work cooperatively with counselors, special education staff, Director of Career & Business Partnerships, and all other administrators.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned.

    This position reports to the Building Principal.
