Primary Care Physician / General Practitioner

Location: New York

Assignment Duration: 6-Month Initial Contract (Potential for Extension up to two years)

Schedule: Evening and Weekend Coverage

  • Weekdays: 4:30 PM – 12:30 AM or 12:30 AM – 8:30 AM

  • Weekends: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Job Description
Our medical staffing firm is currently seeking a qualified Primary Care Physician to provide comprehensive, high-quality medical services for a client located in New York. In this role, you will diagnose, treat, and help prevent diseases and injuries in the general population, serving patients across all age groups and demographics on a continuing basis.
Key Responsibilities

  • Examine patients using standard medical instruments and diagnostic equipment.

  • Elicit and maintain thorough, accurate records of patient medical histories.

  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, lab analyses, and imaging to evaluate patient conditions.

  • Analyze test findings and reports to formulate accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.

  • Administer and prescribe appropriate treatments, therapies, and medications.

  • Educate and advise patients on preventive care, health maintenance, and wellness strategies.
Minimum Qualifications & Credentials

  • Medical License: Active, unencumbered license to practice medicine in the State of New York.

  • DEA Registration: Valid Federal Narcotics Number/DEA certification.

  • Government Programs: Active Medicare and Medicaid enrollment in NYS.

  • Experience & Qualifications: Verified credentials and relevant background experience.
Pre-Employment & Background Screening
Candidates must successfully complete and clear the following background checks and credentialing requirements:

  • Staff Exclusion List (SEL) & Statewide Central Register (SER) checks

  • Fingerprint background check

  • Verification of Medicare/Medicaid enrollment status

  • KPC Credentialing and Privileging process

  • Active DEA certification verification
Health & Immunization Requirements
Documentation of the following health requirements must be provided prior to starting the assignment:

  • Lab Titers: Quantitative titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Hepatitis B.

  • Tuberculosis Screening: Proof of negative TB status via TB skin test or equivalent.

  • Flu Shot: Proof of seasonal influenza vaccination (required for assignments during flu season, October–May).
Mandatory Training

  • Note: Comprehensive client-specific training will be provided upon onboarding, including TRUST, New Employee Orientation, and Departmental Orientation.
