Position Summary
Penda Aiken, Inc. is a staffing firm located in Brooklyn, New York. Our client is seeking qualified Physicians to provide comprehensive primary care and general medical services within a state healthcare facility.
This position focuses on diagnosing, treating, and preventing general illnesses and injuries for facility residents. The physician will provide continuous medical care, conduct physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic testing, prescribe treatment plans, and manage routine/chronic health conditions.
Multiple schedules are available for this 6-month initial contract engagement:
Position #1 (Full-Time Day Shift): Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM.
Position #2 (Weekend & Evening Coverage): Coverage options include 4:30 PM 12:30 AM, 12:30 PM 8:30 PM, or Weekend Days (8:30 AM 4:30 PM).
Primary Responsibilities
Clinical Assessments & Diagnosis: Examine patients using standard diagnostic instruments; elicit and document detailed medical histories.
Diagnostic & Testing Management: Order, perform, and analyze diagnostic tests, lab work, and imaging reports to evaluate patient health conditions.
Treatment & Prescriptions: Administer and prescribe appropriate medications, therapies, and treatment plans in accordance with medical standards.
Preventative Care & Health Promotion: Counsel patients on health maintenance, disease prevention, and wellness practices on a continuous care basis.
Record Keeping & Compliance: Maintain comprehensive clinical documentation and patient medical files using agency-designated health record systems.
Minimum Qualifications
Licensure: Active and unencumbered license to practice medicine (MD or DO) in the State of New York.
DEA Registration: Valid Federal Narcotics / DEA clearance.
Provider Enrollment: Active Medicare and Medicaid enrollment in New York State.
Compliance & Clearances
Background Checks: Must successfully clear SER, SEL, Fingerprinting, Medicare/Medicaid enrollment checks, DEA verification, and facility Credentialing & Privileging (KPC).
Vaccination & Health Requirements: Documented proof of Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Hepatitis B titers; current TB skin test/status; and annual Influenza vaccination (October through May).
Facility Onboarding: Completion of required agency orientation, TRUST training, and departmental orientation (provided on-site upon hire).
