Failure Analysis Engineer

In this role, you'll investigate complex hardware failures, identify root causes down to the component level, and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to improve product quality and reliability. Work closely with Design, R&D, Manufacturing, Product Engineering, Quality, Reliability, Mechanical, Hardware, and Software Engineering teams.

We're seeking a Failure Analysis Engineer to join an innovative engineering team supporting next-generation industry-standard server platforms. In this role, you'll investigate complex hardware failures, identify root causes down to the component level, and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to improve product quality and reliability.
 

What You'll Do

• Investigate customer returns, field failures, and manufacturing escalations involving server hardware.
• Perform detailed failure analysis to determine root causes at the component, PCBA, and system levels.
• Work closely with Design, R&D, Manufacturing, Product Engineering, Quality, Reliability, Mechanical, Hardware, and Software Engineering teams.
• Support corrective actions that improve product reliability and customer satisfaction.
• Participate in special product capture and quality improvement programs.
• Analyze hardware failures using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DMMs, and other diagnostic equipment.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in hardware failure analysis, hardware validation, product engineering, or electronic troubleshooting.
• Experience debugging complex analog and digital circuits.
• Strong knowledge of PCB/PCBA troubleshooting and component-level failure analysis.
• Experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, digital multimeters (DMMs), function generators, and adjustable power supplies.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, board layouts, and assembly drawings.
• Experience with CAD, schematic capture, and PCB layout tools.
