Description
The Physician Assistant Program at Elizabethtown College is currently seeking a full-time Faculty member with duties to be performed on a twelve-month basis.
This faculty member is responsible for teaching graduate-level courses for didactic and clinical year PA students in compliance with expectations set forth by ARC-PA accreditation standards and the NCCPA blueprint under the guidance of the Program Director. Primary responsibilities will be to didactic year students.
Job Duties:
- Provide graduate-level lecture and laboratory instruction to PA students
- Assist the Program Director in the organization, administration, continuous and periodic review, planning, development and general effectiveness of the PA program
- Develop, maintain, implement, evaluate, and ensure adequacy and appropriateness of assigned courses to ensure compliance with the ARC-PA standards
- Participate in the accreditation process and assist in preparations for ARC-PA site visits
- Evaluate student performance and competencies for assigned courses
- Evaluate student performance and competencies during the didactic and clinical years
- Participate in selecting applicants for admission to the PA program
- Review course syllabi with all didactic instructors
- Participate in reviewing and revising as necessary the mission statement for the program
- Serve as an academic advisor to assist students in curriculum and career planning
- Provide and maintain a reliable schedule of office hours for student advising, remediation, and consultation
- Schedule and assist with formal student remediation in compliance with program expectations and accreditation standards, as needed
- Participate in interprofessional education (IPE) programs for didactic and clinical year programs
- Participate in ongoing evaluation of the PA program
- Participate as a member of the Physician Assistant Faculty Committee and the Academic and Professional Affairs Committee
- Maintain a professional development plan that addresses teaching, scholarship, service as well as diversity, equity, accessibility and justice to the standard performance expectations.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of ARC-PA accredited program or other associated accredited program specific to applicant's discipline
- Current NCCPA certification or current certification per applicant's discipline
- Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies or related field
- Eligible for licensure in Pennsylvania
- Five or more years of clinical experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior teaching experience in physician assistant education is preferred
